The game works in a similar way to Fantasy Football where you have a notional budget from which you have to pick your players – or in this case horses, but rather than being over a season, it is all about one afternoon’s racing.

Each player has a budget of 10,000 guineas to pick one horse for each of the races.

The budget means you can’t have all the favourites, so it’s about balancing which ones you want in your stable, alongside which horses are value at their guinea price. Much like you can’t have Salah, Kane, and Ronaldo, you can’t have Honeysuckle, Constitution Hill, and Edwardstone. It’s about finding the value picks – the Jarrod Bowen, the Marie’s Rock.

Once you’ve paid your £7 entry fee, your horses score points according to how they perform in the afternoon’s racing. Use your boosts wisely to double the points of one horse with your Stable Star or move up one finishing position with the Stewards Enquiry. Most points win, with profit to all those finishing in the top 25%.

You’re in it to win it, but not out of it until they hit the line in the last.

Call us biased, but it’s the most craic you can have with 7 quid.
