Are you doing Tote pools on sport, or is it like a normal bookies?

Our sports betting is run like a standard bookmaker. The price shown on your selection is the price you get.

Are you going to offer fixed odds betting on horseracing?

As stewards of the UK Tote, our goal is to drive the growth and relevance of pool betting to support the future of horseracing. That means our daily racing betting will centre on our Tote offer, but we will supplement that in markets where Tote betting is not suitable. E.g. antepost betting, daily specials and in-running betting.

When will I be able to do a Yankee on racing with the Tote?

We recognise one of the biggest gripes our customers have is the inability to mix and match their selections in free format doubles, trebles and accas. The combination of our SP Guarantee and the introduction of our sportsbetting platform will enable us to offer that capability in the future. Watch this space.

Why are you offering antepost betting on racing but not day of race?

Tote pool betting is not suitable for antepost betting, because you can’t take a price in a tote pool. The final payout is determined by the amount of money bet on the winning selection, so people who’d bet 6-months before the race would get the same price as those who bet on the day.

As a racing betting company we recognise that limitation, so we will be offering tote account holders fixed-odds antepost betting so customers can be rewarded for their long-term predictions beyond our existing Tote Ten-to-Follow competition.

Will you be offering any fixed odds betting on horseracing after the final declarations?

No. The antepost markets will come down on the day of the final declarations, and the Tote pools will be made available the evening before raceday.

What other sports can I bet on?

We’ll be betting on all the sports you’d expect, but we will be focussing on Tote betting for horse and greyhound-racing.

How much can I win?

Our max payout is £250,000. Some minor sports/leagues have smaller maximums, so please check here [link to max payouts area] for more detail.

What is the minimum bet?

Minimum unit stake is £0.01 (€0.01), while minimum stake per slip is £0.50 (€0.50)

Do I have to transfer my balance between tote betting and sports betting?

No. You can use the same wallet to bet into the Tote pools worldwide, the sportsbook and all our gaming options.

Can I use my Tote credit on sports betting?

No, because the free bets work differently in Tote pools and Sportsbook. Tote credit works like cash into the pools and free bets in the sportsbook are risk free tokens where you get the winnings but no stake back.

Does my deposit limit apply to both Tote racing and Sports betting in total or do I get double?

All your betting is done against the same Tote wallet, and any deposit limits you have apply to the wallet rather than the area you’re betting.

What odds format do you use?

While we will default to show decimal pricing, you can choose between decimal and fractional odds.

How can I tell which team is the Home team?

In UK, Irish and European sports, we show the home team first. i.e. if a Premier League match is displayed as “Liverpool v Arsenal”, the game will be played at Anfield.

In American sports it is traditional to show the home team second. i.e. “New York Giants @ Kansas City Chiefs” would be played at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas.

In the US Sports, what is meant by Money Line, Spread and Total?

The American sports tend to be quite high scoring, so we offer a win market, a handicap market and a market on the total points scored in the match.

The head-to-head win market is called the “money line” – who will win the match.
The handicap market, where one team is given a number of points start in the match, is called the “spread”. i.e. NY Giants +8 vs Kansas City Chiefs -8. If the match finished NY Giants 16-20 Kansas City Chiefs, the NY Giants would be the winners on the spread (effectively winning 24-20).

“Total” simply refers to the total points scored in the match. In the example above, the total points would be 36.

In US Sports, what is a Teaser?

In US Sports you can choose to combine more than one game in an accumulator in a similar way to the way we pick a number of football results in an accumulator, but you can also combine teams in the handicap betting market and get an additional advantage in the handicap instead of simply multiplying the odds. This is called a “Teaser”.

Example:

NY Giants +8 vs Kansas City Chiefs -8
Denver Broncos +7 vs San Fran 49ers -7

A teaser bet allows you to move the handicap by 6-points in your favour, so If you wanted to be with the Giants and the 49ers you could bet:

Giants +14 and 49ers -1 in a Teaser double at 5/6.

Can I cash out my bets early?

Most markets offer cash-out functionality. Check the “Cashout” tab in the betslip area to view which of your bets are available to cash out. Partial cashout is also available.

Can I cancel a bet?

If no prices have changed you can cash out your bet at no cost.

How do I ask for prices if the market isn’t there?

If you can’t see the market or selection you want, please use our live chat facility to let us know.

If it’s something as simple as adding a runner who’s not been included in an antepost betting market, we’ll be able to add that selection quickly.

If it’s a new type of market or bet type, your feedback will help us prioritise our ongoing work to improve the service we give you.

Which sports do you offer Betbuilders/single match accas on?

A Betbuilder is simply an accumulator-style bet where all the markets are within the same match. Our Betbuilder offer is limited to football on launch. We will be broadening the range of that football offer to include more player specific options and expanding the number of sports covered as we develop the service.
